Information

Offset is a contemporary grotesque type family that starts from something familiar: system fonts such as Arial. It is not conceived as a revival, but as a shift — a way of working with what already exists and pushing it slightly off balance. The design relies on a rational, functional structure, borrowing the efficiency and neutrality of everyday sans-serifs as a stable foundation. From there, small adjustments in proportions, spacing, and curve tension introduce a quiet contemporary tone. Nothing is decorative, and nothing is there to be noticed for its own sake.

Offset is built around clarity and consistency across weights. Open counters, restrained contrast, and carefully tuned metrics allow it to hold up in long texts without calling attention to itself. At larger sizes, these same details start to surface more clearly, giving the typeface a subtle presence without turning it into a statement.

Offset was designed as a working tool. It fits naturally in editorial layouts, interfaces, branding systems, and wayfinding, and behaves predictably both on screen and in print. It does not try to stand out, rather it is meant to stay in place and do its job. Offset means to be present but discrete, elegant and efficient .
