Information

Area is a variable geometric font family of 176 fonts that takes inspiration from architecture. Revolving around two width: Normal and Extended, matching italics. Area comes in three axis and six total styles: Compressed, Normal, Extended and Inktrap versions for each and matching italics. Taking full advantage of the variable technology in order to bring a powerful font system. Like any piece of architecture, the design process of Area started with a stable modular geometrical structure. Once the foundations are laid, its envelope slowly unfolds into a more quiet neogrotesque robe, offering a solid base for any reading experience thanks to its smooth grey. Far from being ornamental, Area inktraps have been planned from A to Z to offer the assurance that even in situations that are trickier and require the use of smaller text, everything will remain steady as steel.

Simplicity and Minimalism from a Modernist Typeface

Despite the name, modernist fonts have been around since the 1800s although they have developed considerably since then. They generally have geometric, futuristic, abstract or urban font styles with vertical lettering and thin, straight lines that are paired with curves and bold strokes.
Modernist typography is usually characterised by a simple and uncomplicated design. The stress is on the vertical, so there is no slant on the letters and clear-cut transitions with thin and thick strokes.

Where and How to Use Font Modernist

• Sans serif fonts can be well suited for body text, but as always it depends on what you want to convey in your design layout. One could state that they’re ideal for logos and headings, especially for online use, where their clean lines can create a stunning effect that will give a great impression.

Modernist fonts are popular with designers and anyone in creative industries such as technology and architecture. They use them to create stylish and memorable logos, to build brand identity and for various projects to help to create authority, trust and a modern or innovative image.
